Litchfield Diocese

Children whose parents regularly attend a Church of England church, or a church in communion with the Church of England, or of a church which is affiliated to the Council of Churches for Great Britain and Northern Ireland or the Evangelical Alliance. Evidence of such attendance will be required in the form of a letter from a minister of the Churches concerned. Regular attendance is defined as attendance at a church service (or an explicitly defined church activity) on a Sunday or weekday on at least two occasions per month for at least two years.

Nursery

Children are admitted part-time during the academic year in which they become three years old. There is no charge or cost related to the admission of a child to a school. Parents must reapply for admission to Reception at the school at the appropriate time. If applications exceed the number of places available then unsuccessful applicants will be placed on a waiting list in accordance with the county council's oversubscription criteria (those living within the catchment area or having siblings at the school having priority). If places become available after the offer date they will be offered to the child at the top of the waiting list. Waiting lists will be kept until the end of the autumn term of admission. Our catchment area comprises of Mayfield, Ellastone, Wootton and Stanton.

Primary (First) School

Full time places in reception classes will be available in September of the academic year within which the child becomes five years old. Fifteen places are available in Henry Prince reception each year. If applications exceed the number of places available then unsuccessful applicants will be placed on a waiting list in accordance with the county council's oversubscription criteria (1. those living within the catchment area, 2. have siblings at the school, 3. have parents who regularly attend a Church of England church, 4. other pupils according to how near they live to the school). If places become available after the offer date they will be offered to the child at the top of the waiting list. Waiting Lists will be kept until the end of the autumn term of admission.

Late Applications

Application forms received after the closing date will be considered alongside those applicants who applied on time wherever possible. Where it is not practicable because places have already been allocated, or are shortly to be allocated, then late applicants will be considered only after those applicants who applied by the published closing date. A late application does not affect the right of appeal or the right to be placed on a school's waiting list.
